When to book a newborn photoshoot?

The perfect age for a Newborn Photo session

Your child will appear in the world in a moment or has just appeared and we do not have the idea what age will be the best for the newborn session. What is the best age?

Many photographers limit a child’s age to between 7 and 10 days of age or within the first two weeks. This time is indeed the best because your newborn baby sleeps hard and calmly. In my 7 years of experience, I know that life writes different scenarios and we are not always able to appear at the sessions at this time. Sometimes babies are in hospital for longer than usual or their mothers feel unwell. The reasons can also be tiny, but difficult to realise. Faster return of dad to work, no car, constant visits from the family who want to greet the baby, etc.  Does it all ruin your chances of nice results during the new session? I say NO. You can come when your baby is three weeks old or almost four. It still isn’t too late. Then I have to be careful about how the baby is developing, if he has colic and the morning session time will be better.

Your baby is still as perfect as it was on the day it was born.

It will be great if you manage to arrive as soon as possible, but remember that the experienced photographer will take beautiful photos with the older newborn too.

Remember that your baby changes every day and the point of a newborn session is to capture in pictures what he was just after birth. This is the main reason for the best time sessions period in the first two weeks after birth.  The next substrate is the size of clothes for the session and props.

Another reason is the size of newborn clothes created especially for sessions and props. For older children, they can, unfortunately, be too small. So the session will have equally beautiful but different results.
