Must have poses for a newborn photoshoot
intro
Must have positions for each newborn shooting
After many years of experience working with newborns, I have developed a routine during each session. There are many combinations, but a few main positions for your baby that enhance his beauty. I try to stick to my plan so as not to forget anything.
We always start with family photos. In my studio, the temperature is close to that of naked babies. The heat is bad for Mom’s hair and makeup. It is important that the parents also look perfect and beautiful. The second reason is the warm beginning of the session for the baby in the hands of the parents. It mutes it and puts the newborns to sleep.
The second part of the session is newborn positioning.
- Chin on hands
This position shows the babies’ faces in front of the camera. This position is photographed from different perspectives and with different additions/props.
- Froggy position
I love this pose and that’s the most favorite one in my studio.
It is an amazing position and must be done with an extreme focus on babies’ safety and comfort.
- Taco position
This position can be taken with little hands-on cheeks or under them.
- Side Lay position
Baby posed on his\her side.
- Huck Finn position
The Huck Finn pose features the baby on their back with their little legs curled up over their bodies.
- The bum up pose
Position with little babies bums up.
- Wrapped position
This pose is easy and relaxing for all babies. The baby is wrapped in soft and stretchy layers to keep his position almost the same as from pregnancy time. Most babies posed in wrap sleeping deeply.
- Natural Sleeping on the back
I also show the baby with the arms of your family.
Pictures of siblings are also very important. For them, a newborn at home is a very emotional situation. Older children are often very excited and happy. There are also some kids who are a bit jealous. We can capture all of this in a photo.
